Specify the language combinations you interpret, including your mother tongue and regions/locales.

  • French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German
  • Asian and Southeast Asian languages (Karen and Burmese specifically)
  • Slavic and Baltic languages
  • Scandinavian/Nordic languages
  • Arabic
  • African languages/dialects
  • Sign Language
  • Indian languages/dialects
  • Haitian Creole

Subject matter specialists are preferred. Specify in which of the subject areas below you are proficient.

  • Accounting, auditing, and banking
  • Automotive, machinery, and tools
  • Chemical, nuclear, and fossil fuel
  • Court, judicial
  • Civil engineering and steelmaking
  • Customer service
  • Economics and finance
  • Medical instruments and pharmaceuticals
  • Social services
  • Trademarks and copyrights
  • Other…

Specify the interpreting settings for which you would consider yourself most qualified:

  • Legal depositions and trials
  • Confidential matters
  • Business meetings and seminars
  • Factory tours
  • Medical appointments and social services
  • Negotiations and presentations

Requirements

Echo International requires that their interpreting professionals meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years ongoing interpreting experience (some exceptions may apply)
  • Legally able to work in the United States (social security/tax number)
  • Fluent in both source and target languages, preferred native in target language
  • Proven ability to convey the cultural and emotional intent of the original message
  • Specialist in various industries and content fields
  • Professional, able to be trusted with confidential or sensitive information
  • Able to provide two to three professional references

Compensation

Competitive and is negotiable. Based on experience.

      April 11-12, 2013—Hosted by the Pittsburgh Technology Council, this year’s Made in PA Expo attracted nearly 150 exhibitors and over 150 registered visitors. The MADE in PA EXPO is a two-day supplier forum and trade show highlighting the capabilities of manufacturing firms in Pennsylvania. The EXPO provided attending manufacturing firms “how to do business” seminars with large regional and national OEMs, as well as an opportunity for visibility and networking with other Pennsylvania firms. We had a very positive showing and look forward to similar events to come.

      Echo International Participates in GALA Conference and Expo in Miami, Florida March 17-20, 2013

      Representatives from Echo International attended the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA) annual conference, this year held in Miami,Florida. It was 4 brilliant days jam-packed with industry-specific workshops led by experts in translation and localization.  Key themes for this year were: machine translation, post-editing solutions, quality control metrics, business opportunities in Africa, and translation memory and management systems to name a few. There were also several product demos from Plunet, SYSTRAN, Déjà vu, Lucy, iDISC, XTRF, and XTM Cloud among several others. The days were mixed with informative sessions, Agile conferencing, and networking opportunities.  We learned a lot and made many great connections.
